Midge Bowman

 

Midge Bowman is a former President of New Horizons for Learning. She is currently executive director of the Frye Art Museum in Seattle.   She holds degrees from Pomona College and Yale University and has done doctoral work at the Fielding Institute.   She has been head of three schools: The Bush School in Seattle, Westridge School in Pasadena, CA and Garrison Forest School near Baltimore, MD.  

Her years in education include teaching and administration at both the elementary and secondary level.   Her research interests include curriculum and pedagogy, educational administration, the arts, moral education, gender issues, and adult development. 

Her writings have appeared in The Christian Science Monitor, Puget Soundings, USA Today, and numerous educational newsletters.  Former trustee of Pomona College and president emerita of the National Coalition of Girls' Schools, she is currently a National Operational Volunteer for the Girl Scouts, and serves on the boards of The Council for Spiritual and Ethical Education, Atlanta, GA and New Horizons for Learning, Seattle, WA.
